Hannan Adely is a reporter for The Journal News, where she covers the City of Mount Vernon, NY. She joined The Journal News/LoHud.com in 2003 and previously covered government and community issues in her native Yonkers. Before then, she covered Warren County, N.J. for The Star Ledger, the north Bronx for The Norwood News, and politics in Central America for Mesoamerica.
Off the beat, Hannan enjoys spending time with daughter Amira, going to rock concerts, reading, traveling and watching Buffy reruns. Hannan also impressed friends and strangers alike in 2004 by pulling off a beautiful, peaceful Arab-Jewish wedding. Four years later, neither party has violated the marriage pact.
